I can't believe I've gone this long without knowing these homies were tucked away here in the corner. NOBODY PUTS TEN SECONDS NOODLE HOUSE IN A CORNER. But here we are... A little gem, nestled in north Austin, calling my name, demanding I try every item on the menu. We snuck in for a quick bite, a kids soup and a couple of appetizers. I did not plan to get stuffed and I certainly did not expect the symphony of flavors to grace my taste buds with sweet melodies of perfection. We are coming back. I'm bringing my friends. I'm bringing my mom. I'm bringing EVERYONE I KNOW. I didn't even get a picture of the gyoza because we ate it too quickly.

Ten Seconds Noodle House is an easy spot to miss located in a small strip of shops right on Research Boulevard. It’s probably a spot you’ve driven by a hundred times and somehow never seen, but we’re very glad we stopped by because the food was great. Since it’s in a strip of shops and close to a Plucker’s, it can be hard to find decent parking, especially on a Friday night so be prepared. Once you step in, the restaurant looks nice and clean, much more modern than a lot of other noodle houses you’ll see in Austin. We were able to be seated for 6 immediately and the place did fill up quickly so we may have gotten a bit lucky. The food was also very good. We ordered the pork xiao long bao, tonkatsu ramen, and copper pot rice noodle soup with szechuan mala base and stewed beef. The soup dumplings were okay, the dough was a bit too doughy and the filling was alright. The more standout dishes were the ramen and copper pot. The ramen was delicious with a nice deep broth and good chashu. Likewise, the copper pot had a rich flavor, especially the mala base. In both dishes the noodles were also cooked to perfection. I would consider this place “hot pot light”. It is not traditional hot pot, but more of an individual portion inspired by hot pot. That being said the mala soup broth was out of this world. Classic Chinese spices and Sichuan pepper flavor. Perfect blend of oil and spice. Will definitely be back!

I really didn't know what to expect going here. However, I was pleasantly surprised with all the recommendations of trying the green pepper broth. It was very flavorful and definitely hot for people that really enjoy very hot broth. This is definitely the place to go. I wish there was a little bit more beef but I guess you can order a la carte. All of the sides were very tasty and the broth stayed hot for a long time. I will be coming back to try other different broths.

Affordable and delicious. I love the hot pot concept (it’s actually called Crossing the Bridge noodles - there’s a heartwarming story on the wall of the restaurant on where the name comes from). I got the Kim chi broth which was really balanced - not too sour or spicy. Hubby got dry noodles which were good but it got too monotonous. I liked the Crossing Bridge noodles better because of the variety of things you can put in. I love that there was chili oil already on the table. I think the appetizers are slightly expensive - we got smashed cucumber for $8. I also love the rewards program. You can redeem for free food! Overall, I can’t wait to go back and bring friends and family!
